We checked in late Friday night 10/8, we were just too tired to drive another hour to get home. We thought the price was a bit high at $160 for the night, but just wanted to lay down for a bit. In the morning, while gathering our things around 10am Saturday morning, I noticed a dark spot on the pillow, then I saw it move! I looked closer and saw it was a bug, so pulled out my phone and took some pictures to share with the staff, and my phone popped up an option to search by image, which identified it as a bed bug. My fiance started freaking out from this and nearly went into a seizure. She immediately had me shake out all her clothes checking for more, and kept having me check her body, asking if there's any crawling on her, for the rest of the day. Upon checking out, I informed the front desk of the situation and they called in the manager, but the one girl at the desk claimed it wasn't a "bed bug, it was just a creature from outside", which she reiterated several more times. The manager arrived and looked at my pictures and immediately offered to refund me, but when he realized we paid cash, only offered 70 out of the 160 we paid, not even half. I reluctantly accepted it and was leaving, but then as I got in the car, he came out saying he needed the receipt to make a copy. At this point I had already told my fiance about the refund, so she asked why we didn't receive a full refund, explaining the extra troubles we were going to have go through now, and the manager said "would you like I not refund anything?" and the girl jumped in again saying it wasn't bedbugs, and nearly escalated from there. I went back in with the manager so he could have a copy of the receipt and we left with our 7/16 refund. My fiance did have some bite marks on her hand, and we did not find any signs of any bedbugs after we got home and cleaned everything and washed our clothes, but an unexpected and unpleasant ordeal nonetheless.
