Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

The first thing I did was place my bags on the table and pull up the left corner of the sheets under the pillows. There was a fully mature bed bug just chilling on the corner of the sheet when I pulled it out. I grabbed my stuff and left immediately. The night clerk seemed somewhat shocked at my report but quickly told me that Orbitz would be able to offer me a refund.

Shortly after going to bed we discovered the bedbugs. I promptly reported this to the night clerk and we were treated despicably. The management refused to refund my cash payment of $461.97, and basically, after almost an hour trying to get our money back, my husband and I put our 2 children in the car and left. As there was a big concert in town, rooms were booked everywhere, and we ended up spending the rest of the night in our car. Horrible, horrible, people, no ethics. The night clerk even laughed at us when we left.
